In 1967 22 Signal Regiment lost the Air Support Squadron as it went to RAF Tangmere in 1969 and absorbed 638 Signal Troop and became 244 Signal Squadron (Tactical Air Support) then moved to RAF Benson in 1971 and following that to RAF Brize Norton from 1976 and operated in the Falklands in 1982 (Op Corporate).
